This week, we received a response from the University to our bargaining proposals that we passed over last Friday. You can find them attached to this email. The biggest win was a commitment to a 14-day paid sick leave for any member who contracts COVID-19 or for any member who needs to help a dependent who contracts COVID-19. This is directly the result of the membership email blasting the administration and showing our collective power, even during a pandemic. 

The steering committee continues with ongoing discussions and next steps to move forward are to secure as much protection as possible for our members. Please email if you have any questions about the university’s response or have any other workplace concerns related to the coronavirus.
