September 27th: GEO Teach-In. Students? Workers? Both? Graduate Employees and the Changing University. 11-1pm 6th Floor SCE
Could you afford to study at UIC without a (guaranteed) full tuition waiver? Increased tuition differentials taking more and more of your paycheck? Going to lose three months pay this semester because of the taxation of your GA tuition waiver? Some of the GA positions in your department being turned to Grad Hourly?
Come hear keynote speaker Cary Nelson ( author of No University is an Island) and grad employees like yourself discuss the threats to graduate education and employment at UIC and what we can do to fight off these attacks during our next round of contract negotiations next year.
